Kareem Hunt: Unsigned and on the Street

Kareem Hunt is a situational football player, much like Joe Mixon. When you need someone to make a play, they’ll make that play for you. Hunt and Mixon are different from running backs like JK Dobbins and Tony Pollard who are more empty calorie guys. They fill out the stat sheet, but nothing they do makes a signific impact on winning games.

Hunt was trying to land some “Face of the franchise” money after his first year in Cleveland… maybe 6 or 7 million dollars a year for about 3 years. But the market wasn’t there.

I thought it rang loudly that the Browns took Kareem Hunt back and gave him a one-year deal for some decent money. Then they signed him again off of the street after that contract had expired and he played very well.

Hunt’s relationship with the Browns shows that he has matured and knows how to conduct business. He pulled his career out of the garbage after being released by the Chiefs. The Chargers among other teams could use a gritty, nasty guy like that.
