Who do you have going to Canton, Ohio once they’re done playing?
Looking back on all of the Hall of Famers I watched play, I can’t think of any surprises. Hall of Fame guys come into the league doing Hall of Fame stuff from day one. Whether or not they get inducted following their careers is normally determined by how long they were able sustain such splendid play.
Bo Jackson stands out to anyone who saw him as an unworldly talent. No one accomplished what he did during the period of time that Bo did it. But Jackon’s career was cut short due to injury. He was never able to log achievements in any of the milestone record books that were surely waiting on him to enter.
Deion Sanders had a similar impact on the sport of football. Sanders came into the league and set it on fire immediately with defense, offense and special teams play. Deion kept up his spectacular production year after year, securing two Superbowl championships along the way. Upon his retirement there was no doubt that Prime Time Sanders was headed to Canton, Ohio.
